What ByteTrend is
Every day, ByteTrend asks the same five questions of thousands of assets and turns the answers into a single number from 0 to 5.
The idea in one paragraph
Markets trend. Prices that have been rising tend to keep rising for longer than intuition suggests, and prices that have broken down tend to stay weak. ByteTrend doesn’t forecast where a price is going. It measures, systematically and without opinion, whether a trend exists right now and how strong it is.
The score
Every asset gets a score from 0 to 5. It is a count: five independent yes/no tests, one point each. No weightings, no tuning, no discretion.
| Score | Reading |
|---|---|
| 5 | Full uptrend — every condition met |
| 4 | Strong — most conditions met, trend well established |
| 3 | Mixed — the trend is forming, or starting to break |
| 2 | Weak — the trend is broken, or starting to form |
| 1 | Very weak — a single condition holding |
| 0 | Full downtrend — no trend condition is met |
Why a fixed rule set matters
Because every asset is scored by the same rules every day, scores are comparable across markets, sectors and asset classes. A 5 means the same thing for a US mega-cap, a copper future or bitcoin: all five trend conditions are met.
That consistency is the point. It lets you scan the whole market for leadership and deterioration without reading a single headline — and it means a screen you run today is directly comparable to the one you ran last month.
What it covers
Stocks, ETFs, digital assets, commodities and currencies. Prices are gathered and scores recomputed daily after market close processing. Stocks are scored on trading days; digital assets trade around the clock, so they are scored every calendar day.
What it is not
ByteTrend is a research and information tool. It describes trends that exist in the data. It is not a forecast, not a recommendation, and nothing on the platform is investment advice. What you do with a 5 is your decision.
